DAIMLER CHRYSLER PACIFIC PULLS OUT OF SPONSORSHIP I was shocked to hear it myself, one of the most prestigous car shows for our marque has its major sponsor pull out and just a couple of months pre-show no less. Why is this so ? All Chrysler Day held at Fairfield Showground NSW has been a growing affair for many years and the mere fact that this growth in a local event is so profound should show that the hobby is extremely healthy, perhaps even stronger than ever. I mention this because Owners of Classic Chrysler vehicles whether it be under the banner of Chrysler, Dodge Plymouth, DeSoto, Rootes Group and others, we are a loyal bunch, many of which buy new cars too ..... have they forgotten that ? In fact, I know of many friends and associates within only my personal circle that own Neons, PT Cruisers, Voyagers and Jeeps.
In a sea of Holdens, Fords and Asian imports seeing these cars wihtin our hobby is a breathe of fresh air let alone in the general population. Part of their advertising budget "should" cater for the avid enthusiast and the gatherings that assist in flying the flag for mother Mopar. I am not writing this speil in an effort to spit in the face of the lifestyle I adore, but rather as a dissapointed enthusiast feeling let down that the local face of the marque we love has turned its back on us wihtout a second thought.
